Aion 2's western servers open today for Founder's Pack buyers, five days before launch
NC has opened Aion 2's advanced access at 13:00 UTC on September 30 for anyone holding a Founder's Pack, with the free-to-play global launch following on October 5. Each server holds a single faction.

Aion 2 is playable in the west from today, if you paid for the head start. NC has confirmed advanced access opens on September 30 at 6am PDT, which is 13:00 UTC, and runs until October 4 at 10pm PDT. The free-to-play global launch follows on October 5, also at 13:00 UTC, after a maintenance window that bridges the two.
How to get in early
Advanced access requires a Founder's Pack, bought on whichever platform you plan to play on. Aion 2 is PC only, through Steam or NC's own PURPLE launcher. Pre-download has been live since September 28, but there is a catch worth knowing about: the downloaded files are encrypted, and the client has to decrypt them before you can play. NC says that is not a reinstall, but it does take time that varies with your hardware.
Anyone who took part in the Launch Scale Test earlier this month and played on Steam has to uninstall the Playtest app and download Aion 2 separately. PURPLE players do not.
One faction per server
Aion 2 splits the Elyos and Asmodians onto separate servers, then pairs each Elyos server with an Asmodian one. When you enter a cross-faction mode such as the Abyss or a Spacetime Rift, the enemies you meet come from your paired server. For advanced access that means four pairings in Europe, two each in NA East and Latin America, and one each in NA West and Asia.
NC has also disabled direct player-to-player trading as an anti-bot measure, routing all trades through the Market, and reworked its queue policy so accounts in good standing land in a priority queue when a server fills up. The company is explicit that priority access is "a privilege, not a guarantee" and can be pulled from accounts with disciplinary action against them.
Steam lists the game as free to play from NC, with the sequel's world described as 36 times larger than the original Aion's and built in Unreal Engine 5. It first launched in Korea and Taiwan in November 2025.
Why it matters
Aion 2 is the biggest western MMO launch of the autumn and NC's first real attempt to prove it can export something other than Lineage, so the state of its servers over the next five days will shape how October 5 goes.
