Among Us lets dead crewmates talk again, badly, with the Influencer role
Update 19.0.0 is out on every platform and adds the Influencer, a ghost crewmate who can send up to three random images to a living player. The pictures are not chosen by you, and they can get the wrong bean ejected.

Innersloth has shipped Among Us update 19.0.0 across all platforms, and its headline addition solves the oldest frustration in the game: you know who killed you, and you cannot tell anyone. The Influencer is a new Ghost Crewmate role that gives you a way to communicate from beyond the airlock - just not a reliable one.
How the Influencer works
Die as an Influencer and you unlock a Message ability: pick up to three random images and send them to a living Crewmate. The point is to finger an Impostor, warn someone that one is nearby, or clear a player who is being wrongly suspected.
The catch is in the word random. You choose which of the offered images to send, not what the images are, and Innersloth is upfront that they "might get misinterpreted and get another Crewmate ejected instead." Refreshes on the image pool are limited, so there is a real cost to fishing for a clearer picture. Hosts can tune the ability's cooldown from the Dropship settings menu, and - Innersloth is insistent about this - ghosts still have to do their tasks.
It pairs with the Judge
The Influencer is the second role Among Us has added that changes what happens inside a meeting rather than outside one, after the Judge. Innersloth flags the combination directly, noting that an Influencer feeding pictures to a Judge "could spell victory... or a very untimely defeat." It also joins the Guardian Angel as a second way for a dead Crewmate to keep playing rather than spectating.
The rest of 19.0.0
The supporting patch notes are short. Server changes should reduce how often duplicate login pop-ups appear, a complaint Innersloth says it saw in player reports. The Judge's gavel smash sound effect has been tweaked. And a new "Redeem Reward" button has appeared in the My Account menu, with the studio saying only that it has "more to share on this at a later date."
Why it matters
Among Us has spent the last year adding roles that make meetings messier rather than clearer, and the Influencer is the purest version of that: it hands ghosts real information and then garbles the delivery. That unexplained Redeem Reward button is the more interesting line in the notes, though - it reads like plumbing for something Innersloth has not announced.
Why it matters
Dead players in Among Us have always been the game's dead weight; the Influencer gives them a way to shape a meeting while keeping the misinformation that makes the game work.
