What happened

Remedy has announced that Control Resonant has passed one million copies sold. PC Gamer puts the time frame at three weeks, and the studio says it is the fastest-selling game in its history.

IGN notes that the milestone comes in spite of leakers cracking the game and pirating it after its digital launch in September. Physical editions of Control Resonant launched on October 15, the same day the figure was announced.

Where this leaves Remedy

The sales number is Remedy's own, passed on through Gematsu, IGN and PC Gamer, and the outlets do not give a platform split.

Why it matters

A million copies in three weeks is a strong start for the sequel and shows the game found an audience despite the piracy problem.
