Dinolords is putting eight players and their dinosaurs on one battlefield in an October demo
Northplay revealed a multiplayer demo for its medieval dinosaur RTS at the Big Break Showcase. It arrives on Steam on October 19 and supports up to eight players, cooperating or fighting each other.

Dinolords, the real-time strategy game that answers the question of what the Norman invasion would have looked like with dinosaurs in it, is getting a multiplayer demo. Northplay announced it during Coffee Stain's Big Break Showcase, and it lands on Steam on October 19.
What's in it
The demo supports up to eight players on a single battlefield. Each one builds a stronghold, raises battalions and recruits dinosaurs, and the mode can be played cooperatively or as a free-for-all against the other players. Northplay has not said how long the demo will stay up.
Studio boss Michael Flarup framed it as a long-standing goal rather than a late addition: "Having a multiplayer mode is something I've envisaged for Dinolords since the very beginning," he said in the announcement.
Where the game is
Dinolords blends base-building RTS with action RPG control of individual units, setting medieval warfare against Jurassic wildlife. It is published by Ghost Ship Publishing, the label attached to Deep Rock Galactic, and has run closed alpha playtests earlier in its development. The October demo is the first time the multiplayer side has been open to the public.
Why it matters
Eight-player RTS with shared and opposed objectives is an unusual shape for a small studio to attempt, and a public demo is the fastest way to find out whether it holds up. If you have been watching Dinolords from a distance, this is the point where you can actually play it with other people.
Why it matters
Multiplayer has been on Dinolords' wishlist since the start, and an eight-player demo is where that ambition meets real players. It's also the first free way to try the game's strategy layer with others.
