A fan-made GTA 5 Switch port died days before release after a Take-Two letter
The modder behind an unofficial Grand Theft Auto V port for Switch says a cease and desist from Take-Two ended the project. The team is shutting down on October 3 and no code is being released.

An unofficial Grand Theft Auto V port for Nintendo Switch that was days away from a public release is not happening. The modder behind it, who goes by Mojso, said on September 28 that a cease and desist from Take-Two Interactive had ended the project and that the group behind it, Paralympics Productions, would close on October 3.
What was being built
Mojso had spent weeks posting clips and screenshots of GTA 5 running on Nintendo hardware, with a release promised within days. Kotaku reports the port leaned heavily on the GTA 5 source code that leaked in 2023. An Android version in development has been cancelled along with it.
The climbdown
The announcement is notably contrite for a project that had been publicly daring Rockstar to act. On September 20, responding to Rockstar's updated modding policy banning ports to other platforms, Mojso had posted "Try me, Rockstar. IDGAF."
Eight days later the tone had changed. "I am sorry for not fulfilling your expectations and leaving you high and dry," Mojso wrote. "I am thankful for Take Two's mercy so this is the definitive end." He added that he would not release the code or assets, because doing so would turn a cease and desist into an actual lawsuit, and that Take-Two "have solid grounds, and with me being cocky it shows real intent for 'mayhem.'"
Why it matters
Rockstar tightened its modding policy to ban platform ports weeks ago, and this is the first high-profile test of it — a project that taunted the publisher and folded inside eight days.
