34 video game Lego sets are being retired at the end of the year
Minecraft, Sonic, Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Fortnite and Horizon sets are all on the list, along with the Arcade Machine exclusive. Once current stock sells through, the resale market is the only option.

Lego is clearing out a large chunk of its video game shelf. According to VGC, 34 sets across six game licences plus one exclusive are marked for retirement on December 31, after which they stop being produced.
What's going
Lego Minecraft takes the biggest hit with 14 sets, which is less surprising than it sounds given how large that range is. Lego Sonic the Hedgehog loses six, while Super Mario, Animal Crossing and Fortnite lose four each. Lego Horizon loses its single set, and the standalone Arcade Machine exclusive is also on the way out.
Retirement in Lego terms means production stops and remaining stock sells through, which can take weeks or months depending on the set. After that the only route is the resale market, where retired sets routinely go for well above their original retail price — the reason these lists get attention at all.
What it signals
A retirement list is not a licence ending. Lego rotates sets constantly and a range shedding older models is normal. That said, Horizon losing its only set leaves the licence with nothing on shelves, which is a different situation from Minecraft dropping 14 of many.
Why it matters
Lego's video game ranges are how a lot of younger players first meet these franchises off-screen, and retired sets get expensive fast.
