Lightyear Frontier leaves Early Access on November 4 after two and a half years
FRAME BREAK's mech farming game gets its 1.0 release on November 4 for Xbox Series and PC, bringing overhauled mech customisation, reworked progression and expanded automation. Existing saves carry over.

Lightyear Frontier is finally getting its 1.0 release. Developer FRAME BREAK and publisher Coffee Stain Publishing confirmed the date at the Big Break Showcase: November 4, on Xbox Series and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
A long Early Access run
The game entered Early Access on March 19, 2024, so 1.0 arrives roughly two and a half years later. The pitch hasn't changed: you pilot a customisable mech across an alien open world, farm it, build a homestead and do it solo or with up to three other players.
What 1.0 brings
FRAME BREAK has been trailing the 1.0 feature set through its development updates. The headline additions are new tool upgrades and mods, including a Seed Shooter Minigun and a Skyblazer flying transform mode, plus an overhauled mech customisation system.
Progression has been reworked to be smoother, with fewer deliveries overall and the option to queue several at once. Farming gets crop rotation improvements, new crops and changes to fertiliser, and automation has been expanded. There's also a tornado overhaul and more world events to push players out into the map.
Importantly for anyone already playing, existing saves carry over into 1.0. The studio says it has finished adding the bulk of new content and features and is spending the remaining time polishing and fixing bugs.
Why it matters
Cosy open-world farming games rarely get a clean 1.0 landing, and Lightyear Frontier is one of the more distinctive ones, trading the usual hand tools for a mech.
Why it matters
A firm 1.0 date and carried-over saves give Early Access players a clear finish line, and it slots a low-stress co-op game into a crowded November.
