Sony's next limited-edition DualSense is a music tie-in rather than a game one. The DualSense wireless controller - Lisa Limited Edition was announced in September and the dates are now close: pre-orders open on October 2 at 10am local time, and the controller goes on sale on October 30.

What it looks like, and what it costs

The pad uses a Chroma Pearl colourway. The touch pad carries an illustration drawn from Lisa's bangs and eyes, and the body is finished with her signature stars and a bold "LL" lettering motif.

It is $84.99 in the US, with Sony also listing ¥12,480 including tax, €84.99 and £74.99 - a premium of roughly $10 over a standard DualSense in most of those markets. Sony says it will be sold in "highly limited quantities" through PlayStation and participating retailers globally, which is the phrasing that usually means pre-orders matter.

There's merchandise too

The collaboration runs past the controller into a styled PlayStation merchandise line: apparel, hats, tote bags, keychains, stickers and a DualSense carrying case among other items. That side of it arrives later, on October 23, through Lisa's official Amazon store.

Writing on the PlayStation Blog, SIE's Nancy Kim framed the partnership around Lisa's own gaming habit, and quoted her saying that "gaming is something I do whenever I have time to relax, so getting to create this collection with PlayStation was very exciting."

Why it matters

Sony has leaned on game-themed controllers for years - Spider-Man, God of War, Astro Bot - but a celebrity signature pad is a different pitch, aimed at people who follow Lisa rather than a franchise. The limited run and the October 2 pre-order window are the practical detail: if you want one, that is the morning to be awake for.

Why it matters

A celebrity-branded DualSense in a deliberately limited run means the October 2 pre-order window, not the October 30 release, is the one that decides who gets one.
