Marvel Tokon's first DLC fighter, Phoenix Cyclops, arrives November 2
Phoenix Cyclops, the first character in MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls' Year 1 Pass, launches November 2 alongside two costumes. A PlayStation Plus game trial and an EVO France demo start this week.

MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls gets its first paid DLC fighter on November 2. Phoenix Cyclops, the first character in the Year 1 Pass, was revealed with a gameplay trailer in a PlayStation Blog post by producer Takeshi Yamanaka of Arc System Works.
How he plays
Phoenix Cyclops is voiced by Ray Chase and is built as an all-rounder, mixing long-range and close combat through Optic Blasts. Players build up "Solar Shards", and collecting four lets him transform into Dark Phoenix for a temporary power boost that drains his health while it lasts.
Yamanaka said the team picked this version over a standard Cyclops to offer fresher visuals and a more exciting fighting style. Classic and Legacy costumes also arrive on November 2.
Trial and demo
The game's first PlayStation Store sale starts today, and PlayStation Plus members get a three-hour Game Trial from now. A playable demo will be at EVO France from October 9 to 11.
Why it matters
A fighting game lives or dies on how fast its roster grows, and a dated first DLC character plus a trial gives lapsed players a reason to come back.
