Modern Warfare 4 targets 90fps on PC and finally fixes double XP tokens
Activision detailed Modern Warfare 4's PC build alongside a dedicated trailer: DLSS 4.5, FSR Redstone, XeSS 3 and ray tracing across all modes. It also confirmed double XP tokens will only tick down during matches.

Activision published a PC-focused trailer and tech breakdown for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on September 29, ahead of the shooter's October 23 launch. It came with one change players have been asking for across several Call of Duty releases.
Double XP tokens stop wasting themselves
Starting with Modern Warfare 4, double XP tokens count down in-game rather than in real time. Activation no longer burns minutes while you sit in a lobby, wait for matchmaking or browse menus; the timer pauses when you leave a match and resumes when you're back in a public game.
It's a small change with a long history of complaints behind it, since players have never been able to control how long matchmaking takes. Activision also confirmed that double XP tokens earned in Black Ops 7 carry forward and remain usable in Modern Warfare 4.
The PC side
Activision says the PC version targets 90fps at recommended specifications without cutting visual quality. Upscaling and frame generation support covers NVIDIA DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR Redstone, Intel XeSS 3 and Filmic SMAA T2X, and ray tracing is enabled in Campaign, Multiplayer and DMZ.
The game supports everything from 1080p up to 4K including ultrawide displays, and Activision counts more than 800 customisation options across graphics, gameplay, input and interface. TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are required, continuing the anti-cheat approach from recent entries. Full CPU, GPU and memory requirements sit on Activision's support site.
Why it matters
PC has become one of Call of Duty's largest platforms, and the token change is the sort of quality-of-life fix that affects every player who grinds levels, not just the ones chasing frame rates.
Why it matters
The double XP token change is a years-old community request finally being delivered, and the PC feature set shows where Activision is aiming ahead of the October 23 launch.
