Monster Hunter Outlanders locks in an October 29 mobile launch
Capcom and TiMi Studio Group have dated the free-to-play mobile Monster Hunter for October 29 on iOS and Android, with a mainland China release following in 2027.

Monster Hunter Outlanders finally has a launch date. Capcom and developer TiMi Studio Group confirmed the open-world mobile hunting game arrives on October 29, 2026 for iOS via the App Store and Android via Google Play. A mainland China version follows from 2027.
What it is
Outlanders is a free-to-play survival hunting game built for phones rather than a port of a console entry. It ships with seven of the series' classic weapon types, covering Great Sword, Long Sword, Dual Blades, Hammer, Lance, Heavy Bowgun and Bow, and supports solo play or cooperative hunts for up to four.
The setting and roster are new. Alongside original adventurers, the game introduces monsters exclusive to Outlanders, including the Elder Dragon Ruger Aidal, plus a companion system built around three buddy types: Palico, Rutaco and Trillan. Capcom says the controls are optimised for mobile to keep things accessible without flattening the combat.
Capcom's mobile play
In its press release, Capcom framed the launch as a deliberate strategy move, saying it will leverage its portfolio of leading game brands as it seeks to broaden recognition of its IPs and maximise the value of its content in the growing global mobile games market. The company also noted Monster Hunter has passed 131 million cumulative units sold as of June 30, 2026.
Pre-registration is open on both stores. Producer Dong Huang at TiMi and series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto released video messages confirming the date.
Why it matters
This is the biggest mobile swing the series has taken, and TiMi's involvement means it carries the weight of one of the largest mobile studios in the world behind it.
Why it matters
Monster Hunter is one of Capcom's two biggest franchises, and a licensed free-to-play mobile entry from TiMi is a significant test of how far the series can stretch beyond console and PC.
