Speldosa Interactive has given Muri: Wildwoods a release date: December 7, on PC via Steam. The announcement came with a release-date trailer, and there is already a playable demo on the store page for anyone who wants to try it before then.

What it is

You play Pelle, a small creature called a muri on their first solo job as a cleaner, sent to an island to wash away a corruption that has made the local wildlife sick. The tool for it is a water gun with swappable nozzles - a Bubble Spray and a Pressure Washer to start, with two more unlocked later - and the loop is the satisfying one the genre is built on: blast the grime, watch colour and plants return, pet the critters you've just saved.

There is a little more structure around it than pure cleaning. Light platforming and water-gun challenges gate off parts of the island, Pelle sketches what they find, and there are hidden pixies, outfit colours and a forest spirit to rescue. A Digidial tracks your cleaning progress, steps, sketches and water use, and a support crew called TeamSqueak keeps you company over comms.

Why it matters

Cleaning sims have turned into one of the more reliable corners of the cozy genre, and early December is a crowded but sensible slot for one. Speldosa hasn't announced a price or any console versions.

Why it matters

It is a firm date for one of the better-looking cozy cleaning games in the pipeline, and it lands in the busy pre-holiday window with a demo already available.
