Pokémon Legends: Z-A is getting a Switch 2 card with the Mega Dimension DLC already on it
From October 29, a single game card will hold both the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its Mega Dimension expansion, with no download needed. Buyers also get a code for 100 Ultra Balls.

The Pokémon Company has announced a new physical version of Pokémon Legends: Z-A that puts the game and its paid expansion on the same piece of plastic. The Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle arrives on October 29.
One card, both halves
In its own words, the release "includes both Pokémon Legends: Z-A - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the Mega Dimension DLC on one game card." That matters because bundles like this are often a box with a base-game cartridge and a download code slipped in beside it. Here the expansion is on the card.
Buyers also get a serial code for 100 Ultra Balls, delivered in-game through Mystery Gift.
It still works on the original Switch
The Pokémon Company confirms the card plays on an original Nintendo Switch as well, with a caveat: on that hardware "the content will be the same as that of the Nintendo Switch software," and the extra features and content that lean on Switch 2's specs are not included. So it runs, but you get the Switch 1 version of the game out of it.
The announcement does not list a price, and it says nothing about whether people who already own Legends: Z-A and Mega Dimension separately get anything out of this, or whether the DLC continues to be sold on its own.
Why it matters
Physical Pokémon releases that bundle DLC usually mean a download code in the box. This one puts the expansion on the cartridge, which is the version collectors have been asking for.
