Bandai Namco has set an end date for Synduality: Echo of Ada's online service, and unusually for a shutdown notice, the game is not disappearing with it. The publisher says the extraction shooter will be rebuilt as an offline, PvE-only release that existing owners can keep playing.

The timeline

The online service runs until after May 2027. Updates and events stop before then, and Bandai Namco says the event scheduled for October 2026 is the last content drop the online version will get. Sales of the paid SYN COINS currency end on December 18, and the publisher notes the coins expire 150 days after they are activated.

Save data transfer to local storage is due to start in December, and Bandai Namco says the precise end-of-service date will be announced around March 2027. The offline version follows after May 2027.

What the offline version keeps

Bandai Namco describes the result as a standalone PvE extraction shooter: the PvPvE structure that defined Echo of Ada goes away, along with any feature that needs a server. The publisher says some of the online version's save data and certain purchased items can carry over, but has not detailed exactly what makes the trip.

Automaton West reports that the reaction from players has been unusually warm for a sunset announcement, with a chunk of the community happier without the player-versus-player layer that ran alongside the raids.

Why it matters

Live-service closures normally end with an unplayable game, so a publisher building an offline mode before pulling the servers is a rare and genuinely useful precedent for preservation.
